Kid’s Tenderfoot Hill Climb
Kids of all ages – Join us for the first-ever Kid’s Tenderfoot Hill Climb! It’s not a race, but a challenge. We meet at the bottom of Tenderfoot Mountain just north of downtown Salida and ride the dirt road toward the summit! It’s a decent climb, but nearly all kids will be able to do it. The road heads steeply uphill for a short way, then winds around the mountain in a giant spiral to the summit.
This will be a closed road course – no cars allowed, but uphill all the way. We’ll have two aid stations – one about 1/3 of the way up and one at the top. Lots of volunteers will cheer you on your way! The ride is appropriate for all ages of children, but children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
The Kid’s Tenderfoot Hill Climb will be accompanied by the Kid’s Sponsorship Challenge. The ten children who raise the most money to support AADA through pledges, from individuals only (no businesses!) will win fun prizes. Fundraising prizes will be awarded at the party in Riverside Park after the ride – to the top ten fundraisers bringing in more than $50!
Entry for the kid’s ride is only $10 and includes: a shirt and goodie bag. The ride will be on Saturday, August 25 – starting at the bottom of Tenderfoot Mountain at 5pm!
