14th Annual Monarch Crest Crank – August 25-26, 2012!
The Monarch Crest Crank is the historic fundraiser for the Chaffee County Alliance Against Domestic Abuse (AADA) and 2012 will be bigger and better than ever. This is the Crest Crank’s 14th year and AADA will continue to offer advanced mountain bikers the chance to ride the famed Monarch Crest Trail, as it has since 1998.
For those who don’t mountain bike at all, we offer the Historic Salida Cruiser Ride for all ability levels. This ride will wind through the streets of Salida and take in some of the area’s most interesting historical spots. Want to learn about ghosts, gunfights and historic architecture without breaking a sweat? This is the ride for you.
This year we will also offer the Kids Tenderfoot Hill Climb and Sponsorship Challenge, tailored specifically to youngsters.
Entry remains $75, plus pledges, for the Monarch Crest Trail ride, $50 for the Historic Salida Cruiser Tour, and just $10 for the Kid’s Cruiser Tour. On top of this bargain price, we highly encourage you to raise at least the same amount in personal pledges and sponsorships.
Your entry fee for the adult rides includes the ride, guide, shuttle, t-shirt and of course, our legendary party in Riverside Park after the ride. The top fundraiser bringing in more than $500 of pledges wins a stylish new cruiser bike. Our winner last year raised nearly $2,000 so the bar is high!
Entry for the kids’ ride includes a t-shirt and entry to the party! The top ten fundraisers in the Kid’s Sponsorship Challenge will win prizes, including a bike for the top prize!
